How To Fix Torn Pants

I could also title this post as, "How to fix torn pants that your son only wore once!"  The first time Ethan wore these shorts the neighbor's puppy tore several holes in them.  As aggravating as this is, I still want to dognap that puppy, because he is the cutest sweetest puppy ever!  So, I'll forgive him this one time!

Cute a piece of fabric the same shape as your tear.  Make it a little larger than your tear to give yourself some working room.  Pin it to the wrong side of your shorts.

Using the same color thread as your pants follow your tear using the zig zag stitch setting.  Do it a couple of times.  Heck, do it 3 or 4 times if you have boys that climb trees, play on playgrounds, and run around with puppies!

Now trim away the excess fabric.

Now my son can wear his shorts more than one time!

It is a similar method to repair holes in pants as well.
