Cheap in the Kitchen


I can't believe how expensive groceries have become the past several months.  It makes it difficult for a stay at home mom!  I read the book, Make The Bread Buy The Butter.  The author, Jennifer Reese, tries to economize the items she previously paid for.  I've taken a lot of practical tips from it to help me in the kitchen and the wallet.

I've been making my own bread crumbs.  Save the bits of stale bread or the ends no one wants to eat, then toast them up in the oven.  Finish it off in the food processor.  Mason jars are the perfect place to store the crumbs.
