The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Little Stranger is considered to be a psychological thriller. Although the book takes a long time to develop it does build on itself and becomes a mind twister that keeps you guessing.
Dr. Faraday is the narrator of the novel. He comes to an old manor that his mother was once nursery maid for the family that lived there. He begins to find himself heavily involved with the failing manor and the family that lives there. The more he becomes involved the more you wonder what is a trick of the mind, a psychiatric breakdown, or a poltergeist.
"The Little Stranger" is a gothic thriller that explores the relationship between siblings, and mother and child. It is not a quick read but will hold your attention once the story develops.
