Adoption

IMG_0010
I've never understood why people say, "We adopted a dog."  Is there any question that you adopted?  Recently someone told me they just adopted their puppy.  I wanted to respond,

"Really?  That's great.  My husband and I tried for years to get pregnant with our pug.  But it just wasn't happening for us.  Believe me, John tried and tried.  So, we eventually filed the papers and adopted Zoe.  But don't tell her, we've decided to keep it a secret."

Well, maybe it's to distinguish between *buying* a dog from a pet store or breeder and being altruistic by *adopting* from a shelter or rescue.

This was so funny that I had to read it out loud to Kira and she also agreed that it was funny. And together as we were agreeing with the comedy of your post we both laughed to prove our thoughts on the comical nature of the post. Thanks Katrine.

I used the term adopted when I got my dog. He was a rescue puppy, not purchased. the shelter actually gave me adoption papers. Just a cute ploy on their part I guess.

Do you have a Walgreens near you? Here is a link to $5 off $20 coupon for today and tomorrow. I don't know if that is one of your haunts or not:

you will pay when he/she finds out! I think you'd be better off letting her in on the secret.
