Everyday Gratitude

I have always liked the idea of a gratitude journal.  I think that there is not enough gratitude happening around us.  I know that I can solve my own grumpy attitude if I take time to think of my gifts, blessings, and joys.

Today in General Conference, Elder Eyring spoke of writing down all the things that you see the Lord's hand in your life.  All of the things I am grateful for can be directly linked back to Christ and my Father in Heaven.

So here you have a little link on the right side titled, "Everyday Gratitude."  Just a little something to keep me focused on gratitude.

I love that idea. Sometimes I get so caught up in life and troubles that I overlook some of the most precious things I have in my life. Sometimes it's those simple things that I have never really gone a day without (like showers and garbage disposal systems and food) that I easily forget about as being blessings, until I am reminded how those things aren't just standard life expectations, and many people go without the things I have every day. I need to be better about thinking of them as blessing right off and not forget about them until I am reminded that there is a possibility of going without.

Yes Kira and I are related afterall. No pioneer woman in me.
Try this in your marriage or family. Keep one around that each of you can randomly pick up to write something about the other that they feel gratitude for. It can be a nice pick-me-up to peek inside to see something nice about yourself.
