Martha Stewart

Martha and I are like this (I'm crossing my fingers). Yup, she just sent me her latest magazine. Just kidding, I had to buy it myself. But I feel I've bonded with Martha over the glossy pages of Holiday Cookies.

The beginning of the book has great ideas for packaging up your cookies for gifts. I'm thinking of sending some of these cookies to my bachelor brothers. Let's see how ambitious I get.

The cookies are divided into four different categories like "Soft and Chewy" and "Crisp and Crunchy."

My favorite part is the index. The cookies are in alphabetical order (of course) but there is a picture of each cookie right there in the index! See:

{I just previewed my blog and realized I scanned the picture upside down and crooked! I'm too lazy to fix it. I may like Martha Stewart but obviously I'm not a perfectionist like she is!}

Last night I made the very first recipe in the book, Oatmeal Raisin. By far the best oatmeal cookie I've ever made! I always saw the Martha Stewart used parchment paper on her cookie sheets. But I never tried it until last night. Clean up was so easy! I think using this parchment paper will save a lot of wear and tear on my cookie sheets.

As you can tell I really like this magazine. I even mailed on to my sister-in-law who likes to cook. Shhh, it's a surprise! Oh yeah, she never reads my blog anyway!
