The good news is that the storm is turning a little more east. So, Austin should do pretty well. Austin, how I love thee!
Here are a few pictures for you.
This morning's newspaper:
Here is my man tightening some boards on the deck. He also has been loading up the garage with all sorts of outside stuff.
So, we are told that our area should be receiving winds of 100+ mph. Do you see that big old utility pole on the right? Now, do you see the corner of a house on the lower left? That's MY HOUSE! I hope the pole is buried deep!
But hey, doesn't that sky look nice and blue and pretty? We have birds chirping and flying around. I wish I could tell them to FLY, FLY away!!! Save yourselves!
Oh, and I'm on my last Dr. Pepper and the store's have sold out! That can't be good! What will I do if I can't get my Dr. Pepper! The world will end I tell ya! Send Dr. Pepper!
Oh, and our cell phone is not working. So we'll be here until this afternoon. If all goes as planned we will head for Austin this afternoon. Jason has the phone number for my family, and the Judd's you know where to find us. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have Susan in Texas right now. She is even taking in our friends the Sessions. As for Lee, he's riding out this storm safely in Mexico. He is a smart man!
Oddly, these emails are therapy for me. But, I really don't know if anyone is reading so, I don't know if I'll continue. In other words we could all use some comforting words right now. I've never faced anything like this before.
